Leonard V. Stevenson, Sr.
Aug. 16, 1932 - Dec. 26, 2007
Wife: Brenda Stevenson
Son: Leonard Stevenson, Jr.
Leonard Sr. served the Athletic Boosters for 5 years and was one of our biggest supporters, even after his son (Len) graduated last year. He, along with Brenda, regularly volunteered in the concession stand. He always arrived early, usually having everything set up before anyone arrived. He liked to stay in the background, but always stepped up when our pleas for help went out.
Leonard served in the Air Force for 4 years and was honorably discharged. He then went to work for the Federal government serving 42 years until his retirement as a Special Agent In-Charge of the Wheaton Office of the Defense Investigative Service. He also served as President of Nanjemoy Little League.
Lackey has truly lost a great friend and mentor.

Wanda F. Lucas
Sept. 18, 1958 - Jan. 10, 2004
Husband: Ronnie Lucas
Daughter: Lindsay Lucas
Son: Justin Lucas
Wanda F. Lucas was a 1976 graduate of Lackey High School. She became one of Lackey's most enthusiastic alumni. When her children attended Lackey, she faithfully served as the Secretary for the Lackey Athletic Boosters for about 6 years and took great pride in the work of this organization. Her biggest claim to fame here is for the big line of Lackey Spiritwear that we carry, so that everyone can wear our Lackey blue and gray.
In 2003, Wanda recommended that the Athletic Boosters give out two scholarships. It was approved and she designed the whole application and ranking process.
In 2003, Wanda retired from the Indian Head Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center where she managed the station's asset inventory. Cancer took Wanda from us in January of 2004 and the Athletic Boosters renamed the scholarships after her. Together the Athletic Boosters and the Lucas family provide two $1500 scholarships to one female and one male athlete.
On May 1-2, 2003, both Suzanne Bailey and Lindsay Lucas participated in the "Avon Walk for Breast Cancer" in Washington, D.C. They would like to thank everyone who contributed to this most worthy event. They were walking in honor of Wanda.
Note: Her son, Justin Lucas, is now a professional fire fighter and her daughter, Lindsay Lucas, is now an elementary school teacher and just gave birth to her first child in March 08.
